I’ve been bored and uninterested in blogging lately, been more interested in other stuff, so sorry. I wish I felt like blogging, but I didn’t, so… when I don’t feel it, I just can’t do it, you know? We’re still in first place, although the lead we have over Boston is not quite as comfortable as it once was. We win some, we lose some. Still, look for this team to win the World Series this year, I can just feel it.
Stay positive, Yankee fans, I’m not dead(yet).

I Grow Tired of Victory Cake
We should change the flavor.

Yesterday at 10 the Yanks won again. Nick “The Road Warrior” Swisher backed up his nickname by jacking one out to left, Derek Jeter padded the lead with a solo shot to right field, yada yada yada. The offense did it’s thang. That’s obvious.
Now, I think the true story is what the bullpen did in relief of Surge. Our favorite sinkerballer left after 5 and a third innings with the bases loaded and 1 out. Thus, it was Robertson time.
Me likey Robertson time.
David Robertson is our strikeout guy out of the bullpen, last year and this year Robertson had more K’s than innings pitched, and this year it’s by a pretty wide margin. Robertson, as you know, has a 90-94 mph fastball with solid movement, and a curveball with a ton of drop. He struck out Josh Wilson. And then he struck out Ryan Langerhans.
As I said before, me likey Robertson time. He came in and did exactly what he needed to do, which was to strike out Wilson and get Langerhans out. A sac fly or a non-double play ground ball wouldn’t have done. Robertson is a beast.
Then it went to Coke, and Coke didn’t allow a run, either, so that’s two very nice holds for the Yankee relief pitchers Robertson and Coke. Then, Mariano Rivera, still at 40 years of age the best closing pitcher in the game of baseball, did what he does. He retired the M’s in the bottom of the 9th to seal the win and the series for the Yankees. Today at 4, the Bombers go out and face the Mariners looking for the sweep.
Boo to the yah.
I’m so tired of saying “I’m in disbelief, how good are we?” but come on man! Are we ever going to lose a series again? (Knock on wood)
Hey guys, I’m getting kinda dry with these blogs, I need your suggestions on what theme blog I should do, whether it’s a list of something, an award recap, maybe something else, but I’m a little bored of doing recaps of games.
Today is Sunday, the 3rd and final day of Breaking Benjamin weekend, and we finish with Breaking Benjamin’s really really new, really new song I Will Not Bow, their first single off their new album “Dear Agony”. I can’t wait.

Or buts…

About it.
And if you think otherwise, you don’t know what you’re talking about.
The Song of the Day is Count on Me by Default. I’d really appreciate if you guys can leave just a small comment on the song of the day on my blogs, cause I feel kinda like I’m wasting my time putting these songs up when nobody cares, you know? Haha…

So…
Yeeeeah…

That was… purdy…
And now we’re on FOX… goody…
Can someone say “half game”? -_-
I know there’s no crying in baseball, so I puffed my cheeks and blinked repeatedly, and I held it back, but dammit, I came fairly close! I swear to God, if we lose today and the Red Sox win again, I’m going to need one of you guys to hold me.
In other news, I got a faux hawk. It’s cool and stuff I look hot, I must say. xP
It’s not as overpowering as Swisher’s haircut, it’s kinda small, my hair is not shaven off, just a simple little faux hawk. I’ll try and show you it soon, but I dunno when I can get a pic… when I do, you’ll see it. Scout’s honor!
The Song of the Day is a hard, heavy, rock song, a difference from the “rappy hip hop”, as Virginia would say, that I put up here usually. Double shut out. What what.
It’s called The Night by Disturbed. I don’t know why I put these songs up, nobody listens to them, lol.

EJ Battles Himself While You Watch
Howdy guys! After last night, I kept thinking, and I realized that you guys really need to see my new wallpaper! It’s so cool! I pimped it out! Here it is…

It’s Common! It’s sooo cool right?
Wait, WHAT EJ? You’re not going to talk about last night?
What happened last night?
The Yankees were heartbroken, losing on a walk-off hit to DeWayne Wise despite Nick Swisher’s her–
Ahh, Nick Swisher! A loyal Buckeye fan, born in Columbus, Ohio, bordered by Pennsylvania, and Ohio borders West Virginia, which borders the lovely state of Virginia! Speaking of Virginia, hi Virginia!
You’re totally crushing on her…
Shut up, d!ckhead!
Haha! I got you to call yourself a d!ckhead.
…urmf… whatever! I’m happy! Happy EJ!
Even though the Red Sox won and the Yankees lost…
U-uh, yeah. Yeah, I’m happy.
You don’t seem that happy…
It doesn’t matter what it seems like…
…EJ, are you hurting?
My heart is broken!

Yankees SERGE To First Place

Muahahaha.
The Yankees are in first place thanks to great defense and good pitching by Sergio Mitre, combined with timely hitting. We’re executing everything as well as we need to. We’re SO GOOD!
Oh yeah, and the Red Sox have also apparently engaged in an encounter with THE ENDCAT.

See that Julia? Worked it into a post about the Yankees. Rico suave…
In all seriousness, Sergio(one of the coolest Hispanic names btw, cause then you can call him SERGE) had his sanker last night, and Mitre wasn’t playing around with that thing either. That was a SANKER. It had magnificent action on it at times with good velocity and the location was good.
As I’m writing this, Derek Jeter has just whacked a double into left center. DJ’s really surprised me this year; hitting for a great average, stealing some bases, even knocking the ball out of the park. Any time you can get that outta Captain Crunch, you’ve gotta appreciate.
Hey look at that, A-Rod with an RBI knock. 1-0 already! Jeez’m.
Anyways, back to the matter at hand, which is…

…the power sinker of Sergio Mitre. While his final linescore of 5.2 innings pitched, 3 earned runs, 8 hits doesn’t seem all that impressive, keep in mind that Brian Roberts got 3 of those hits and that two of them came in the last innning he pitched.
4-0 Yankees! Two run single for Swisher! This is amazing!
Sergio Mitre could definitely be an effective, strong 5th starter for the Yankees judging on that stuff and command. He has a tough, 92-93 mph sinker that just takes a nosedive sometimes, a slow slurvey slider that can fool hitters at times, and a decent changeup, and he locates those three options pretty well. I’d like it if he can continue what he did in his first start throughout his tenure with us. It’s all that we really need from him.
Hopefully this is no Matt DeSalvo flash in the pan here.
And as for the Red Sox?
Well, they’ve just made a trade for Adam LaRoche with the Pirates, so that’s really got to suck for Andy LaRoche, his brother. This acquisition of LaRoche has got to mean something’s up with Mike Lowell or maybe even Big Papi. So something’s up there. Another reason they’re struggling is because of two acquisitions in which I remember I was never high on in the first place: Brad Penny and John Smoltz. I remember there was a lot of fuss over both signings. People were saying it was a good acquisition, getting Penny because he’s a former all star, he could give them something etc. I was all “Whatchu talkin’ bout, Willis?” on that, and I knew that Brad Penny was going to have a bad year. You can see that in my comparison of the Yanks’ and Red Sox’ rotation.
And the second acquisition was John Smoltz. People were thinking he’d be a great veteran presence who’d still be able to dominate at times. They thought he’d return to his injury and go back to his dominant ’07 form, and that he’d be a great presence in the postseason. That’s the one thing they brought up the most, the postseason. Well ladies and gentlemen, he was injured and he’s also 42 years old(and by the way looks every bit of it).

So now the Red Sox are frustrated, as you can probably tell from the above image of John Smoltz. They’ve scuffled all the way to 2nd place, and now they’ve got to watch out for them Rangers and Rays. Tampa Bay is 4 days away from making my pre season predictions for the playoffs even more ballsy and fairly correct(I’m still recovering from the Indians and Mets prediction though).

The Return…
Sorry that I was gone, I was wrassling radioactive spider monkeys using only a sponge.
Anyway, I don’t know what’s worse. Losing and the Red Sox winning, or losing and the Red Sox losing. Red Sox losing would obviously be a disadvantage in the standings and stuff, and we’d be 2 back, but, you know, if we lose and the Red Sox lose, well… the Red Sox lose only 1.5 times every year, and you really have to capitalize and make sure you gain ground in the East.

But now it’s irreversible, and the Yankees have got to move on and try to win some games. It’s not that easy to come back off a bad, late inning, frustrating loss and destroy the next ballclub you face, but that’s what the Yanks have got to do. And hey, they’ve definitely done it before.
It’s sad to see Eric Hinske, who hit his first Yankee homer, hit another single, got nabbed in the foot and made a great diving catch in right field in the first inning, and be remembered in that game for striking out to end the game. That last at bat was painful for Mr. Patient(I call him that not cause he has discipline, but because he had been waiting so long to play as a Yankee and then had that great day). Hinske was up 3-1, then he fouls off the ball, then he strikes out on that little floating slider that might have or might not have been a strike. I don’t blame him for swinging at it; had he taken it and it was strike three, it would’ve been an outrage. Tough.
The Song of the Day? Meh, I dunno. Ask Vanessa.
Stay positive, Yankee fans.
-EJ the Kid From New York
Ladies and Gentlemen…
Allow me to introduce the newest member of the New York Yankees.
Eric Hinske?

Now accepting nicknames.
I woke up at 12:15 or so and so my brother and I are still doing the morning sniffles, and of course, my brother looks quite angered like he always does in the morning. Energy wise, I’m about 70%, physcally, I’m 50%. Hopefully I’ll be at 100 on both counts by 3 when MLB.com will have a live chat with Mark Teixeira.
This is somewhat of a strange move… not necessarily a bad move, but an odd one. This move gives the Yanks a left handed bat with some power off the bench, think kind of a poor man’s Nick Swisher, but with a somewhat higher average. Hinske can also play the corners; left, right, third and first. so he is basically Nick Swisher with a lot less power and slightly more average.

The confusing part is that, who’s going to have to be sent down to make room for Hinske? Why would we need Hinske when we have Swisher, who plays first, left and right, Gardner and Melky in the outfield, and Ransom, who can play all infield positions, including first and third? Did we really need to make this trade? From what we know now, it seems like a very unnecessary move, so I have the feeling that there’s definitely something up. My guess is that the Yanks are going to put Matsui on the DL because he’s not himself right now. Maybe something’s up with his knees.
But this is all speculation. It could be for any reason, really. That’s all for today, let’s hope Joba turns in a good performance and we can continue this streak against the M’s.
Stay positive, Yankee fans.

Also, I forgot to mention. Gary from Nasty Nats, I’m sorry, but I am not J. Hova, I don’t know who that is, but I hope that you do find him if you’re looking for him. Lol, if you’re looking for him…

We Win Again…

Jesus man, these Mets find such hilarous ways to lose. It’s really quite astounding. Congrats on not making an error, now all you have to do is figure out how to hit a ball and how to pitch one and then you can start actually playing competitive games! Gasp!
I know it sounds like a bit of a stretch, Metsies, but with a little determination and a little more hope, one day you can actually have a chance at beating us.
Haha, I’m really mikin’ this, huh?
Nice to see that Posada homer, that’s the Jorge we know and love…
Song of the Day is The River – Good Charlotte feat. M Shadows and Synyster Gates of Avengd Sevenfold… be sure to leave comments…. I’ll be at Vanessa’s blog, Flair For the Dramatic tonight, she’s hosting the Mets-Yankees game on ESPN, it’ll definitely be an interesting game.
